Moans and Songs - Lizzie Miles, 1956
I could have sworn that i already wrote about a Lizzie Miles album, which is ludicrous because i definitely would have remembered it. In any case, Miles recorded several albums for Cook Records - and on this album she works with perennial Cook artist Red Camp, whose piano accompaniment perfectly matches Miles' pre-WW1 blues singing. A New Orleans-based singer who toured in New York in the 20's, Miles has an incredible voice and a great command of material, It's apparently very classic New Orlean's blues - again, I don't know enough to say, but it's definitely a perfect choice for a lazy Sunday.
